Always blasted injectors with carb cleaner until a guy stopped me

I used to spray carb cleaner straight into diesel injectors thinking it was the best way to clean them. Then a retired mechanic at a shop in Tulsa told me it strips the internal coating and ruins the spray pattern after about 50 hours of run time. Has anyone else been doing something simple wrong for years and only found out by accident?

Whoa, I wonder if it's actually worse for people who are naturally cautious. Like maybe we overthink ourselves into missing the early warning signs.
