Called me crazy for swapping compressor oil brands. Been 8 months now.

Everybody at the shop said stick with Rotella for the CAT C15. I switched to Chevron Delo 400 after some research. 8 months later the oil analysis came back cleaner than any Rotella change I ever did. Has anyone else had better luck with a different oil brand on older engines?

Ran my old Ford 7.3 for twenty years on Rotella and never dared to try anything else. Last year I switched to Shell Rotella T6 just for kicks and the engine actually runs quieter at cold start. Makes me wonder how much money I wasted being loyal to a brand name when the data was right there all along.

I mean @ray189 I feel like old engines sometimes just like whatever oil you put in them first.
