Can we talk about how less time under the hood is becoming normal? I think it's bad for learning the trade.

Absolutely agree.
Rushed training just makes more parts changers, not real techs. The shortcuts and quick codes don't teach you how to actually diagnose a weird problem. You can't learn the deep systems knowledge by just swapping modules. It feels like the whole trade is getting watered down for speed.

Yeah the parts changer thing is real lol. I've found the weird problems only get solved when you refuse to give up and just start checking basics, even if it takes all day.

Yeah the "parts changer" thing. I mean at this rate the new guys might not even know what a relay looks like without a computer telling them.
