CP3 pump swap on a 6.7 went sideways today
I was swapping a CP3 on a 2015 F-250 in my shop near Tulsa this morning and the high pressure line fitting stripped out on the last torque pass. Took me 45 minutes to get the old line off with a flare wrench and some heat, but now I'm worried the new fitting is cross-threaded and I'll have a fuel leak on startup. Anyone else run into this on the Powerstroke and just replace the whole line instead of fighting the nut?

Damn, 45 minutes just to get the old line off? That's brutal. I would have given up way sooner and just cut the damn thing with a sawzall. And you torqued it enough to strip the fitting on the last pass, that's the kinda thing that makes you want to throw your torque wrench across the shop. Honestly, if you're even questioning whether that new fitting is cross threaded, just replace the whole line. Fighting with a nut that's already questionable on a high pressure fuel system is asking for trouble, and a leak on startup is the last thing you need after that headache. Save yourself the aggravation and the cleanup, man.
