Just crossed 500 injector replacements and it hit me different than I expected

I hit 500 injector jobs on a Cummins ISX last month. I keep a little tally in my notebook for each major job type I do. When I saw that number I had to sit down for a second. It just made me think about all the miles I've put in on the road and how every single one of those repairs was a different story. Some were easy, some had me pulling my hair out for hours. Does anyone else keep count of specific jobs or does that sound too obsessive?

Buddy of mine down at the Freightliner shop keeps count of every single EGR cooler failure he does. He's at like 400 and some change now. Said it makes him feel old just thinking about the miles behind all those jobs.

Yeah @ray189, I used to think EGR stuff was overblown but this number is honestly kind of wild. 400 failures is a lot of downtime and parts for one guy to track. Definitely makes me take those systems more seriously than I used to.
