Pro tip: Clean your fuel filters before chasing a miss in a 6.7 Powerstroke

I was working on a 2015 F-350 in Phoenix last week, truck had a stumble under load and I spent 3 hours checking injectors and wiring before I swapped the fuel filter and found it half clogged with algae. Who else has wasted a day on simple stuff like this before thinking to check the basics first?

Pulled the same crap on my 6.0 last month, felt like a real idiot.

Ain't that the truth? Algae in the desert heat is brutal.

Honestly, is it the heat that makes it worse or the way the sun hits those plastic pools just right? I'm trying to figure out if there's a trick to keeping it out or if you just gotta scrub like crazy every week.

Friend had a kiddie pool out in Phoenix last summer. Cleaned it every other day and it still turned green by week's end. She finally just gave up and drained it.
