PSA: Check your fuel at the Love's in Bakersfield, got a bad batch

Was passing through Bakersfield last Friday and filled up at the Love's on Rosedale. Truck started running rough about 20 miles later, found water in the fuel when I drained the separator. Three other drivers I talked to at the terminal had the same problem that same day. Anybody else get bit by a bad load out of that station?

I had nearly the exact same thing happen to me at a Pilot in Barstow a few years back, so I know how frustrating this is. @piper912, I get where you're coming from but this really is a different situation. My tractor is less than two years old and I run good filters, but when you get that much water in the tank it doesn't matter how clean your fuel system is. That milkshake description is spot on, I've been there. It took me two shops and a full tank flush to get the water out of my lines, and even then I had to replace two injectors. Bad fuel is bad fuel no matter how well you take care of things, and three drivers on the same day from the same station is a dead giveaway.

Piper912 I gotta respectfully disagree with you on that one. Three separate drivers with the SAME issue on the SAME day from the SAME pump points to a bad batch of fuel, not poor maintenance. My rig is well maintained and I check my separator every week like clockwork. When I drained it that night it was like a MILKSHAKE with all that water. No amount of filter changing stops a tank full of diesel that's already contaminated. That station clearly got a bad load from their supplier, plain and simple. Good maintenance saves you headaches but it cant fix bad fuel from the get go.

Could it be that the truckers need to maintain their fuel systems better?
