PSA: I just wasted $120 on a 'universal' DPF sensor that didn't fit anything
Bought it online for a 2018 Freightliner, the listing swore it was compatible. Spent 3 hours trying to make it work before realizing the connector was totally wrong. Had to overnight the right part from the dealer. Anyone else get burned by these generic sensor listings?

Tell me about it. Got a "universal" MAF sensor last month that was a total joke. The threads were wrong and everything.

My old Honda taught me that lesson. I bought a cheap universal thermostat housing that cracked in two weeks. Now I just wait for the right OEM part to show up at the junkyard.

That "universal" tag is just code for "we don't want to stock the right part." It's like what vera_murphy said about the wrong threads, they're banking on you giving up. You see this cheap-out mindset everywhere now, not just car parts.
