Swapped from a torque wrench to angle gauge on head bolts, never touching the torque method again

Honestly, after fighting with a stretch gauge and getting inconsistent clamp loads on a 6.7 Powerstroke last month, the angle method with a digital protractor gave me perfect readings on all 16 bolts in under 20 minutes, has anyone else made the switch and noticed less head gasket come-backs?
