That old filter wrench trick I saw at a shop in Nashville
I watched this gray-beard mechanic knock a stuck oil filter loose by wrapping a zip tie around it first and then using the wrench. The zip tie gave just enough grip where the wrench kept slipping before. Has anyone else tried this on those stupid hard-to-reach filters?

That "gray-beard mechanic" thing... did he use a specific kind of zip tie, or just any old one from the hardware store?
