Warning: dont trust those cheap injector pullers from amazon

I used to always just rent the fancy OTC puller from oreillys for 20 bucks. Then i bought a $35 kit off amazon to save a trip and it broke on the third injector. That was in january on a 6.0 powerstroke in a gravel lot near madison. Has anyone else had luck with a specific brand that wont bend under heavy rust?

Man, "metal quality isn't there for real rust" is exactly it. That whole cheap amazon kit thing is just part of a bigger pattern in everything now. Think about it, tools, clothes, even furniture. They make stuff just good enough to work once or twice, then it falls apart. You gotta buy the expensive version to get what used to be standard quality. @kimreed is right, I finally broke down and bought a Matco puller a few years back after snapping two of those cheap ones on a truck in a snowstorm. That thing has saved me so much time and cussing, even on the crusty 6.0 injectors. It's frustrating that you basically have to pay triple to get something that actually does the job without bending.

That amazon kit sounds like it failed exactly how i figured it would. The whole problem is the metal quality isn't there for real rust. A lot of those cheap sets use soft steel that just folds up. Your best bet is to stick with OTC or Matco if you want one that lasts. I bought a Snap On puller after breaking two cheap ones, and it hasn't let me down on Ford injectors yet.
