Found a $20 portable wifi hotspot on FB Marketplace and it's been a game changer for remote work in cafes
I was stuck grinding at coffee shops with spotty connections until I picked up this Teltonika unit from a seller in Austin last Tuesday, and now I get stable 5G even in the back corner of a loud Starbucks, has anyone else tried a dedicated hotspot over just tethering from your phone?

My friend grabbed a used Netgear hotspot from OfferUp last fall and it completely saved their WFH setup since their library wifi kept dropping. They said the battery lasts all day and it handles Zoom calls way better than their phone hotspot ever did. Kinda tempted to look into one myself after hearing how smooth their connection's been.

Wait "all day" as in literally a full work day? That thing must be pumping out some serious battery. I mean, my phone can barely handle three hours of hotspot before it turns into a warm brick and dies on me. So you're telling me this little box can run Zoom for eight hours straight without needing a charge? That's wild. Makes you wonder why we're all out here draining our phone batteries when this thing exists.

Was your friend using it on a specific carrier's plan or did they just pop in their own SIM card? The unlimited data plans for those things can be kinda tricky to find.
