Found out my "unlimited" data plan isn't unlimited after 15GB
I was working out of a cafe in Medellín last week and my hotspot just stopped working. Called my provider and found out my plan throttles to 128kbps after 15GB. Never saw that in the fine print. Anyone else get burned by a data cap they didn't know about?

Jumped right into the same trap myself a few months back. It's honestly so sneaky how they bury that stuff in the terms. I remember reading "unlimited" and thinking, cool, I can stream all I want on road trips. Then around 18GB my videos started buffering and I couldn't even load a simple webpage without waiting forever. Best part is when you call customer service and they're all like "well actually it's unlimited at reduced speeds" like that's supposed to make me feel better.

Got throttled myself at 18GB with a different provider that promised "unlimited everything." Felt real smart when I realized my 4K movie was loading about as fast as a dial-up connection from 1998. Called customer service and the guy actually said "well the fine print says unlimited at 128kbps after 18GB" like that was supposed to be some kind of blessing. I drive around all day for work and just wanted to listen to music between jobs without it cutting out every thirty seconds. Honestly I'm just mad at myself for falling for it because I've been burned by this exact same thing with three different companies now. At this point I'm pretty sure "unlimited" just means "unlimited disappointment.
