Got roasted by my host in Bali for my packing list
I showed up to a co-living place in Canggu with 45 pounds of gear including a portable monitor and a travel router. The owner took one look and said 'you're not moving here, you're camping.' He was right. I ditched half the stuff at a donation bin and now I travel with just a backpack and a laptop. Has anyone else gotten called out for overpacking by locals?

Bro "you're not moving here, you're camping" hit way too close to home lmao. I rolled up to a hostel in Medellín with a full duffel bag of clothes for every possible weather scenario and a separate bag for camera gear. The front desk guy just laughed and asked if I was planning to open a store. Ended up leaving half my wardrobe with the cleaning staff and the camera stuff in a locker. Now I'm down to a laptop, three shirts, and a pair of shorts and it feels way better.

Three shirts is the sweet spot, and @the_drew gets it - we all learn the hard way that packing light is the real flex.
