I had a chat with a bartender in Chiang Mai that totally messed with my head
I was working from this quiet cafe in Chiang Mai last week, and the bartender there started talking to me about why he left his accounting job in Bangkok. He said he makes less money now but he actually sleeps through the night for the first time in 8 years. That hit me hard because I've been grinding 60 hour weeks trying to hit some arbitrary income goal for my freelance work. He asked me what I was even saving all that money for if I never actually enjoy the places I'm working from. I realized I've been treating digital nomad life like just another office job with a better view. Has anyone else had a random conversation that made you rethink your whole approach to this lifestyle?

Charlies 2006 Silverado with the 4.8 has been doing the same thing for two years now and he still drives it daily with no issues. I get that some people want their cars perfect but at a certain point you have to ask if dumping 2 grand into a 15 year old truck is really worth it. Most of the time its just a minor evap leak or a dirty MAF sensor that wont hurt anything. The check engine light comes on for a dozen different reasons and 90 percent of them are not going to leave you stranded. I see folks on here panicking over a P0420 code like the engine is about to blow up. Calm down @charlienelson its just a sensor reading a slight efficiency drop, not the end of the world.
