Just crunched the numbers on my coworking membership and I'm paying $480 a month for a desk I only use 10 days a month

Those coworking spaces are sneaky with their pricing structures. I had a look at one in Austin once and it was like 400 bucks for 20 days, but the 10 day pass was only 280. You might be on a plan that's way more than you need if you're only going in twice a week. Most places don't advertise the lighter plans, but they usually have them if you ask.

Honestly @vera_murphy, I see it different since my 5 day pass was actually cheaper per day than the bigger ones.

Honestly this tracks with so many things now, not just coworking. It's like how gyms will push the unlimited monthly plan but hide the 4 visit card behind the counter. Or how streaming services auto enroll you in the annual plan when the month to month is cheaper if you actually cancel after a show ends. Everything is designed to make you pay for more than you use, from phone plans to those coffee subscription cards. Your mileage may vary but I've started asking specifically for the "light" or "casual" option at every place that offers memberships, and half the time they have something they just don't put on the website.
