My laptop battery swelled up in a cafe in Chiang Mai

I was working at a co-working spot last Tuesday and noticed my trackpad felt weird. Opened it up and the battery was puffy like a pillow, had to rush to a repair shop before it exploded. Has anyone else had a battery fail while traveling abroad?

Oh man that exact thing happened to me too. My trackpad started clicking weirdly and when I flipped it over the battery looked like a little puffy marshmallow. I was in a hostel in Vietnam and the guy at the counter knew exactly what to do, it was actually kind of wild how common this is over there.

Batteries swell up from heat and humidity all the time, your laptop was just unlucky. In my experience the repair shops in Chiang Mai are actually pretty good at handling this stuff so at least you were in the right spot.
