My visa run to Laos actually boosted my productivity for the quarter

Just wrapped up my quarterly review and realized that the frantic visa run I did to Vientiane last month, which everyone told me would disrupt my flow, ended up giving me the clarity I needed. I've always believed that these mandatory breaks from routine, forced by border hops, inject a necessary chaos into our overly curated nomadic lives. While most folks preach about stable bases and deep work periods, I find that the pressure of a ticking clock in a new city sharpens my focus like nothing else. Hitting my targets ahead of schedule this quarter feels like a quiet victory for embracing the scramble.

Chaos just leaves me scrambling, not productive.

Totally get that scrambling feeling... I just pick one tiny task to start.

Forced resets work like a system reboot.

How do you define chaos versus productive disruption?
