PSA: I wasted $400 on a portable monitor that broke in 6 weeks
I bought this super thin portable monitor from a brand I'd never heard of (you know, the kind they advertise on Instagram). It looked great for working from cafes in Chiang Mai, but the screen stopped working after 6 weeks of light use. The warranty process was a nightmare, they wanted me to ship it back to China at my own cost. I should have just stuck with a decent tablet or spent the extra cash on a name brand one that folds into a stand. Has anyone else fallen for one of those random electronics brands while traveling?

Read a review from another digital nomad who had the exact same problem with those Instagram portable monitors. They said the build quality is basically just cheap tablet screens without the proper casing. The return shipping thing seems like a common trick to make people give up on getting their money back. Really frustrating how these random brands pop up, get tons of paid reviews, then disappear when stuff breaks.
