Serious question, has anyone else gotten roasted for their packing list?
A guy in my Chiang Mai co-working space saw my giant suitcase and said 'You're hauling a whole house, man.' I realized I was carrying stuff for 'what if' scenarios that never happen. Now I travel with a 40L backpack and a strict rule: if I haven't used it in 30 days, it gets donated locally. How do you decide what's essential?

That 30 day rule is a game changer. I used to pack for every possible weather event... now it's just a capsule wardrobe and one pair of shoes that actually go with everything.

See I could never do that. What if you spill something on your one pair of shoes? Then you're just stuck with dirty shoes for the whole trip.

Right? I used to bring a whole extra bag just for shoes. Now I just roll with some solid black sneakers and like three shirts that all work together. It makes getting ready so much easier.
