Unpopular opinion: coworking spaces are overrated for actual work
I tried the trendy one in Medellin last month, paid $200 for a month pass, and got less done than at my hostel desk. The constant networking chatter killed my focus. Has anyone else found a quiet local cafe works better?

Spent three days in a WeWork in Austin last year. Felt like I was paying for the privilege of being sold something every time I refilled my coffee. Total pattern I've noticed now is everything is turning into a "community" with a price tag attached. Gyms were supposed to be for lifting, now they're "wellness social clubs." Coffee shops used to just have good coffee, now they're "creative incubators." Nobody just sells a quiet chair and a table anymore without trying to build a whole damn vibe around it.

Stuck to the quiet corner of a local library instead and got way more done in two hours than a whole day at those coworking spots. The hostel desk worked fine for me too especially with noise canceling earbuds. Those trendy places are just instagram backgrounds with wifi honestly.

Started bringing a power strip to the library. Found a spot with outlets and zero distractions. That old school quiet works way better than any "creative space" hype.
