Convinced that cheap fabric softener is actually wrecking my backyard towels but everyone I know swears by it
I ran an experiment with three identical load cycles last month and the ones I washed without any softener dried twice as fast on the line and still felt soft, so has anyone else ditched the store brand stuff and just used a cup of white vinegar instead?

Vinegar saved my towels but now my laundry room smells like a chip truck.

Why would anyone pay extra to make their towels feel waxy and take forever to dry? Your vinegar trick is basically science while their softener is just greasy perfume. Stick with the kitchen aisle, your towels will thank you.

Switched to white vinegar a few months back, night and day difference for my bath towels.
