My grandma's flower bed used to be a dirt patch for 10 years until she planted zinnias last spring
She just watered them once a week with leftover dishwater, and now the whole neighborhood stops to take pictures, has anyone else had an old-school gardening trick beat their pricey setup?

You gotta love that, right? Grandma's old dishwater trick beating out all the fancy fertilizers people buy. And @kim191, your aunt's coffee grounds thing reminds me of my neighbor's rose bushes - she just dumps her morning coffee grounds around them and they're the biggest blooms on the block. Seems like everything our grandparents did was just simpler, you know? They didn't overthink it. Just used what they had and let nature do its thing. Makes me wonder how much money we waste on stuff that doesn't work half as well as plain old tap water and a little patience.

My neighbor swears by pouring her leftover pasta water on her tomato plants. She saves it in a jug and waters them once a week. They're so big they're taking over her whole yard. You ever try something like that?

Swear my aunt grew prize-winning tomatoes with nothing but coffee grounds and tap water.
