My old neighbor in Sacramento showed me how to fix a sprinkler head with just a zip tie.

The 3/4 inch black zip ties from Harbor Freight work best for that. Just loop it tight around the broken stem.

Actually @cameronmurray, I've had those zip ties snap on me in the sun. I just use some good garden tape instead.

Garden tape just makes a sticky mess when it gets wet. Cameronmurray has it right with the zip tie fix.
