Pro tip: stop using cedar chips for mulch if you have dogs

I put down cedar mulch last spring cause it smells nice but my dog started scratching nonstop. Vet said some dogs are allergic to the oils in cedar. Switched to pine bark nuggets last month and zero issues, cost me $15 less too. Anyone else deal with this weird allergy thing?

Pine bark nuggets were a game changer for my pup too, he was scratching his belly raw before I figured out it was the cedar. My vet said cedar oil is basically a super strong irritant for some dogs, same way certain plants bother people's skin. Saved money and my dog's comfort switching over, feel kind of dumb for not realizing sooner.
