Showerthought: Why my neighbor's flamingo obsession saved my patio project
In my experience, most people hate lawn ornaments, but I think they're secretly useful. Last summer, I was laying a stone patio and kept tripping over uneven ground. My neighbor's collection of pink flamingos actually helped me mark the spots that needed leveling. We had a good laugh when I thanked him for the accidental survey tools. Your mileage may vary, but sometimes the silliest things have a purpose.

Have you seen those life hacks where people use stuff for other things? I read about a guy who used old wine corks for drawer knobs, and they turned out perfect. Another example is using chopsticks to hold up small plants in a garden. Honestly, most DIY wins come from using what's already around. It's cool how ordinary things can fix problems without buying special tools. Your flamingo leveling trick fits right in with that creative thinking.

Saw a tutorial once where they turned empty plastic bottles into self-watering planters by cutting them in half. You fill the bottom with water and the top with soil, and it wicks moisture up. Stuff like that saves money and reduces waste. Creative reuse is always the best kinda fix.

Did something similar with yogurt cups... worked great for seedlings.
