Skipping the soil test almost killed my vegetable patch
Adding lime based on a quick kit fixed the pH and now my greens are thriving.

Glad that quick fix worked. Really shows how getting the soil right is Everything. Might be worth testing it every couple seasons just to stay on top of things.

Skipping the test almost killed your garden, but that lime was a quick band-aid. @sandra374 is right about testing, but let's be real, who actually does that?

Forgot to test my soil once and ended up with mutant carrots. Now I just wing it and pray to the garden gods.
