Three years ago I planted a single mint plant and now my entire backyard is a mint jungle and the neighbor's dog keeps eating it and burping minty air at me through the fence.
Last weekend I finally dug up like 40 square feet of the stuff and threw it in a burn pile but the next morning I saw new shoots poking up through the ash, has anyone else had a mint invasion completely take over their yard?

I've got like 600 square feet of mint taking over my yard behind the garage. Tried Roundup twice and it just laughed at me and spread more. Pretty sure mint is the actual immortal weed from hell and we're all just renting space from it now.

Omfg are we seriously acting like mint is a bad thing here?? 😂 I WISH I had 600 sq ft of free mint growing somewhere. That stuff is liquid gold at farmers markets and you can sell it to cocktail bars for like $4 a bundle. But nah, @spencerm46 is wrong about the plastic trick too because mint will literally grow through anything including concrete if it wants to. Honestly just lean into it and start a whole backyard mint farm situation. You'll be the mint king of the neighborhood and everyone will come to you for their mojito needs.

Wait, did you try pulling it up by the roots or just spray it? Roundup never works on mint because its roots go like three feet deep and just bounce back stronger. Your best bet is to dig out as much as you can and then cover that whole area with thick black plastic for a full season to choke it out.
