Vent: Watching a crew try to tape a ceiling seam without a lift in a 12 foot entryway
They were using two ladders and a plank, wobbling like crazy while trying to spread mud overhead. I told the foreman a cheap lift rental from the local yard is $45 a day and saves your back, but he said they 'always do it this way'. How do you handle high seams without killing yourself?

Remember my buddy who tried that ladder and plank trick on a vaulted ceiling? He slipped, fell on his hip, and was out of work for three weeks. Doctor said he was lucky it wasn't his back. Now he just rents the lift.

Man, that's rough... my cousin tried something similar painting his living room. He ended up with a broken wrist and a huge drywall repair bill. Some shortcuts just aren't worth the risk.
