Warning about that new 'fast set' mud from ProCoat
I grabbed a bucket of ProCoat's '30 Minute' compound for a small patch job in a Denver condo last Tuesday. The stuff hardened in the bucket in under 20 minutes on a cool day, way faster than the label said, and I lost a whole bag. Learned you gotta mix tiny amounts and work SUPER fast, even if the temp seems fine. Has anyone else had this happen with their quick-set products?

Yeah that stuff is no joke. I once mixed a batch that set before I even got the lid off the bucket. Felt like a real pro move.

Oh man, that's the worst. I had one cure so fast I just left the whole mess in the bucket and threw it out. My partner still calls it my "five hundred dollar paperweight." Not my finest moment for sure.

Before I even got the lid off" is a special kind of panic, lmao. I had a similar thing happen with some fast-set epoxy last year. The whole bucket was just one solid brick, had to chip it out with a hammer.
