Rant: I've stopped recommending daily sunscreen to all my clients
For years, I pushed sunscreen every single day like everyone else, but I've seen clients who skip it sometimes actually have less reactive skin. Most estheticians would call me crazy, but I had a client with sensitive skin who cut back to only using it on sunny days, and her redness went way down. Now I tell people to listen to their skin instead of following a strict rule. It's made my consultations more personal and effective.

Watched my friend get way less irritated when she quit forcing daily sunscreen. Now she just puts it on for actual sun exposure and her skin looks happier.

Saw a dermatologist say some sensitive skin does better with sunscreen only on high exposure days, not forced daily. Makes sense what you're seeing with your friend @phoenix_clark3.

My sister's dermatologist told her the same thing last year. She has rosacea and daily sunscreen made it worse. Now she only uses it for long drives or beach days. I guess @phoenix_clark3 is onto something with that approach for sensitive skin. The one size fits all rule doesn't work for everyone.
