Finally got the bank to approve my loan after 3 months of back and forth
They kept asking for more paperwork on my freelance income, which took forever to sort out. Anyone else have a nightmare with income verification?

My accountant told me to attach two years of bank statements right behind the 1040. The first time I did that, the loan officer actually called to thank me. It shows the regular deposits and proves the income is real. I also started using a separate business checking account so everything is clean and easy to find. It's a pain to set up but it turns a pile of receipts into something a bank can actually understand.
